Adobe has created a cloud based PSD file format which enables a seamless transition from tablet to desktop. Perhaps signalling a gradual move to a more portable and accessible format to appeal to a wider demographic than the current Photography design professionals that the software is marketed too. The iPad is arguably the most widely used tablet in the market but the advent of Microsofts Surface products would probably be a close fit for the touch-based version of Photoshop.
What will the future hold for Adobe? Illustrator on a touch-based computer? A service provided from Adobe to thin touch-based client machines? The return of drawing tables powered by touch? Whichever way Adobe decides to move the future for design appears to be touch based. LH
